Porcelain & Composite Veneers

Veneers are cosmetic covers for the front teeth to improve the colour, size, shape or texture of the teeth. They can also be used to fix chips or close gaps. They are bonded onto the teeth to create beautiful and attractive smiles. Dentists use the analogy that veneers are to teeth to what false fingernails are to the hands. There are 2 types:

Composite veneers
To create these veneers, colour-matched composite resin is applied to the front surface of the teeth and sculpted to the desired shape and finish under the hands of our experienced dentists. Ours can do a temporary mock-up on your teeth to give you an idea of what can be achieved cosmetically. The advantages of composite veneers over porcelain are that little to no tooth drilling is required and they can be placed in a single visit.

Porcelain veneers
Wafer-thin laminates of porcelain are bonded to the front of your teeth to completely reshape your teeth and smile. This treatment involves some tooth surface reduction. The veneers are custom-made by our technician, therefore two appointments are required. These are expected to last for 5-10 years, and will require replacement in the future.
